Ready for your printer
The editor creates a flat craft template with an outer cut boundary, two eye openings and small side attachment marks. Width, eye spacing and opening width are separate choices. Begin with a plain-paper draft so you can assess the actual positions before decorating or making a larger set.
💡A few useful answers
Does choosing a wider mask move the eyes farther apart?
Eye spacing is an independent setting. Increasing the outer width changes the animal outline while the eye centres keep their selected separation. Adjust both values deliberately, then review a plain-paper draft at actual size.
Can I upload a face or character picture?
This editor uses the three supplied original animal designs. It does not accept photographs, character uploads or facial measurements. Choose the closest useful shape and personalize the printed outline with your own decoration.
Why print a draft before coloring?
The screen cannot confirm physical fit, printer scaling or the position of an attachment on a wearer. A plain draft lets you inspect eye openings and overall width cheaply, then carry successful settings into the final colored or heavier-paper version.
Adjust the template around the eye positions
✏️Mask width ranges from 120 to 180 millimetres. This is the width of the paper design, not a measurement that automatically converts into a fitted face shape. Two people with similar face widths can still need different eye positions. Compare the first printed draft with the intended wearer and adjust the centre-to-centre eye spacing rather than stretching the whole print in a printer dialog.
Eye spacing can be set from 45 to 70 mm, independently of the outer width. The opening width offers 18, 22 or 26 mm options. These are dimensions in the template, so changing the value moves or widens the cut shapes in the preview and exported file. The measured paper crown uses a different measurement, head circumference, and should be fitted separately.
Choose an original animal and its finish
Cat, fox and owl are original simplified characters with clearly marked eyes and side points. Select colored artwork for a ready decoration or leave it off for a lighter outline that can be colored by hand. Paper and ink settings affect the sheet itself; the browser light or dark theme does not change the printed design. Check contrast if you choose an unusual ink color.
One mask occupies each page. Copies repeat the selected character and dimensions, which is useful when preparing a group with the same starting template. Different fit measurements require separate exports. Pair a mask with paper dolls for storytelling, but do not assume the doll clothing or another craft template shares this mask’s physical scale.
Prepare a repeatable paper craft
📝Cut the outside first, then the eye openings, and use the small side marks to plan attachments. The marks locate connection points; the generator does not supply or choose an attachment material. Keep decoration clear of the openings and make a draft before investing time in detailed coloring. Younger makers may benefit from an adult preparing the internal cuts before the decorating stage.
Retain the width, eye spacing and eye-opening settings together when a trial works well. A custom title can identify a group, while the copy count controls how many pages repeat. The 50 mm ruler lets you notice printer scaling before assembly. If learners are still developing line-following control, dedicated cutting practice provides simpler paths before an animal outline.

A cat outline for decorating
Choose cat, 160 mm width, 60 mm eye spacing and 22 mm eye openings. Turn colored artwork off and select one copy. Print at actual size, check the ruler and try the undecorated draft before adding whisker colors or patterns.
Choose owl, 140 mm width, 55 mm eye spacing and 18 mm eye openings. Enable colored artwork and two copies. The PDF contains two identical mask pages; export them only after the smaller eye layout has been checked on a draft.
