Rent payment ledger

A few useful answers

How are the amounts calculated?

The opening balance increases by rent due and decreases by payments, in entered order.

How should I arrange the information?

Keep one tenant and property per sheet; use references to identify partial payments.

What does the difference mean?

A negative balance represents credit. Deposits and late fees require separate records.
