Create printable paper airplanes with a classic dart or wider wings, coloured paper patterns and an eight-step folding guide.
Preview is scaled to fit. The PDF keeps the exact dimensions.
Cut only the outer rectangle. Dashed marks are starting creases; follow the numbered diagrams for later folds.
Start with the plain side up. Fold lengthwise in half, then reopen.
Bring both top corners to the centre crease.
Fold the two new sloping edges to the centre again.
Close the lengthwise fold with the folded flaps outside.
Fold each wing down from the nose, leaving a body strip about one eighth of the original width at the tail.
Open both wings into a shallow V, keeping the body below them.
Match the wing angles. Bend both rear edges slightly up if the nose dives.
Hold the body and launch gently into a clear space, away from faces.
Paper airplane templates
Both airplane variants start from the same rectangle; their wing folds leave different body widths.
Ordinary 80–100 g/m² paper is a practical starting point; heavy card makes the nose bulky.
Check that both wings have equal angles and that one rear edge is not bent higher.
No. Paper, creases and launch technique affect flight; the wide-wing option is a folding variation, not a performance rating.
