A few useful answers

What does each filled cell represent?

One filled cell represents one full cross. Transparent cells remain unstitched.

How should I prepare or position my picture?

Crop around the subject before uploading; simple silhouettes survive a small grid better than busy backgrounds.

How should I choose colors?

More colors retain shading but require more thread changes. Inspect isolated stitches before starting.
