Finish the raw side and bottom edges. Fold each top edge twice by the hem setting, press and stitch near the lower fold.

A few useful answers

Does handle length mean the hanging drop?

Length is end to end after turning in the tips. Attaching 20 mm at each end leaves a free loop 40 mm shorter; it is not the vertical drop.

How do I fold and sew the handles?

For each handle, turn the short ends by the seam allowance. Fold the long edges to the centre, fold in half lengthwise and stitch both long edges.

How do I attach the handles and close the bag?

Centre handle ends on the quarter-width marks, extending 20 mm inside the top. Secure with crossed rectangles. With right sides together, sew the body sides and bottom, then turn.
