Music staff paper

An empty staff is a starting point.

Use blank staff paper for notation practice, short melodies, harmony exercises or composing away from a screen. Each staff has five lines. No clefs, keys, bar lines or time signatures are added, leaving you free to write what the music needs.

Keep the space between systems comfortable.

Choose the distance between the five lines of each staff and the number of staves. The groups are distributed over the usable page. If you choose a smaller page or larger lines, the maximum staff count reduces to leave room between groups.

A few useful answers

Can I print a grand staff for piano?

This version creates separate five-line staves. You can join pairs by hand; automatic braces and instrument-specific systems are not included.

Why did the staff count decrease?

The chosen paper, margins and line spacing must leave room between staves. The generator reduces the count when the previous value would not fit.

Are clefs printed?

No. All staves are blank, with no clefs or other musical symbols.
